It's the perfect water heater. I have used it in China, India, Europe and UK. It may be a bit expensive but if you're a Flight Attendant or Pilot then you will get this product because it gives you the peace of mind knowing it's yours and yours only. I'm an International Flight Attendant and this is the perfect addition to all my traveling needs. It's light, easy to travel and works anywhere in the world.
Sadly, mine has given out after a trip to Brazil and it now takes way too long to boil, this after having used it almost every day since I bought it. I bought mine at Schiphol about 3 years ago and have used it nearly every time I travel, and at home too--it boils fast and it's perfect for that first cup of tea in the morning. The only downside is that it's expensive-I guess because of the low value of the dollar (it costs about 23 pounds in the UK) and it seems that there is no troubleshoot/technical information available if something goes wrong. This is the best electric kettle/water heater I've ever owned. It's small, so you can take it with you anywhere; it has a dual-voltage switch, so it works in the US as well as abroad.
If they included one, it wasn't packaged with the rest of the accessories so that is a flaw. It fits conveniently and compactly--completely self-contained in whatever bag I carry. It always shuts off without spewing hot water all over the table. Lucky for me, I already have one for when I go back to 110 American.Highly recommend for worldwide travel. My roommate will be suffering when I leave and take it with me. This little kettle is a gem.
It's been "idiot-proof" for us as we are doing other things while the water heats. My only complaint is I didn't get an adaptor. I work in a multi-national environment. While I'd love to leave it for her, it will be my travel partner from now on. Though you may need to carry a plug adaptor, it's better than having to use a transformer. The Brits and other European tea lovers have wanted one like it ever since they saw mine in action.My roommate and I have used it in our room multiple times on a daily basis in our base (220 European plug).
We never fill over the fill line.
The kettle was originally made for European use, but the plug adapter (included) works fine for American outlets. The heating coils are not exposed, making the kettle more expensive, but more durable in the long run and easier to keep clean. On the down side, there is a minor design flaw: the plastic tab that holds the electric cord wrapped around the body is flimsy; it doesn't last long. I love this kettle. When I travel, I pair it with the Aeropress coffee maker (which fit the cups perfectly) so I can have a great cup of coffee wherever I go.
It is small and doesn't take up much suit case room. I used it on a cruise ship, at work, and in hotels. It automatically shuts off in about 20 seconds after boiling. This product heats water to a boil in about 2 minutes. It comes with an American plug adapter.
